HFM’s Involvement

Appointed for the Project Management and Design Engineering roles by Dunsborough Centrepoint Shopping Centre, HFM:

  •  scoped;
  • designed; and
  • project managed the delivery of a 440-kW solar PV, rooftop and carport system.

Summary of the Project

This project sees HFM appointed as the Project Manager and Solar Design Engineer. Our role has seen us analyse the electricity load profile of the shopping centre and design, specify and size the PV system in careful consideration this and the client’s available budget.

HFM procured the structural design, regulatory approvals and PV supply and install via a D&C approach in a partnership arrangement with a local construction contractor and reputable solar supplier and installer.

Careful selection of the most appropriately experienced and suitably qualified project team members has allowed a seamless transition from concept through design, approvals and construction.


The project was completed on time and within budget. As of 2019 this 440-kW solar carpark is the largest solar installation in Dunsborough.

Our modelling forecasts that this will reduce the grid power consumption by 40%, lowering the carbon dioxide emissions of the complex by 511 tonnes per annum.
